Built on the same property and oriented the same as the old church, the new St. John the Baptist will again be a landmark to our Tipton community.

The new church will be an integration of the old and the new. Designed in the Gothic style of the old church, many of our historic furnishings and our beautiful stained-glass windows will be accommodated in the new building. Yet, it will be built to the latest liturgical and accessibility standards with the most up-to-date building technologies.

Our Plans
The Worship Center
Restored Windows: our historic windows will be restored and illuminate the large airy space.
Restored Baptismal Font: our font will be symbolically located inside the church’s entrance. Our historic holy water fonts will be at the side entrances.
New Audio System: the controllable system will be customized to the space.
Heating & Cooling: modern insulation, double-paned windows, and an energy-efficient HVAC system will be built in.
Sacristy: an expansive room will hold our sacred vessels and liturgical items.
Balcony: space for the pipe organ and piano and 40 seats will accommodate the choir and overflow seating.The Exterior
South Entrance: a 19-20 car parking lot will include handicapped parking.
North Side: two handicapped parking spaces will be along the west alley near the rectory.
Exterior Walls: the Gothic design will imitate the original 1891 church.
Bell Tower: the original church steeple will top the belfry housing the refurbished bells.
Seating & Pews: our original pews will be used and the same seating capacity will include wheelchair and walker seating.
Refurbished Liturgical Furnishings: our Altar of Sacrifice, Altar of Repose, two side altars, ambo, ambry for holy oils, celestial crucifix, statues, and Stations of the Cross will be cleaned and refurbished or restored.
Welcome Center (Narthex)
Entrance: three entrances from the parking lot will open into a large inviting Welcome Center.
Communications Center: parish bulletins and church announcements will be available.
Restrooms: large restrooms and a family restroom will be ADA compliant.
Vesting Sacristy: pastor and server vestments will be located at the back of the church.
Reconciliation Room: a reverent room will allow for face-to-face and traditional Reconciliation
